@Flavio Oliveira, Thanks for reading! I am way, way down on Lincecum… Low velocity and inability to throw the slider had got elbow problems written all over it. I think he’ll make it through the seaon no matter what to get his next contract but it might be a rough year, especially the last few months. I like that trade, especially since you can use Arod as a trade chip.

I’ve just traded Lincecum for ARod in order to keep these starters: Verlander, Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez and… Lance Lynn… I just need four starts in my league and I think Lynn will be better than Lincecum..
And I even don’t need ARod because I have Miggy as 3B, Gonzo as 1B and Konerko as DH, but ARod already got more value after the injuries of Panda and Longoria.

Yea, I think I’d drop Billingsley for Dempster… I’ve been burned by Billingsley too many times to believe he’s a fantasy contributor and Dempster has been solid for the past 11 months.

@Jonathan Gilpin, Yeah, I’m definitely not dropping him… too much potential there. But I am sitting him for his next start in St. Louis. Cards are too good to take a chance on him after this last start. There will be better match-ups in the future.

@Ryan, I think Matt Moore is a shoe-in… I know he’s struggled a bit, but I think he’ll get it together… I think I’d go, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, Dempster as your second… He’s only allowed more than 3 runs 3 times since June 3rd of last year, rebounding from an atrocious first couple of months. He’s started strong and the Ks keep on coming… I like Volquez, but he’s just a damn headache with that control and I’m not convinced Smyly or Detweiller remain fantasy relevant in a few months.

@JoeC, Hahahahaha! Yea definitely meant Alvarez, it was a tough game to keep in touch on with the Cardinals batters taking 40+ minutes those first few innings… And every Pirates batter was grounding out weakly, it sure got monotonous.

@and1mcgee, Even though I’m not too huge on Bruce and Trumbo, I still think it’s them… LaHair is a mirage, his BABIP is .543 and his strikeout rate is 32.9%… Ethier only delivers in one category, RBIs, as well.

@Dan-o, Yea, dropping Reynolds is a no-brainer there… I traded for Reynolds in my big dynasty league last year needing power, which he delivered, but with his defense so insufferable and Chris Davis playing into an everyday role, I mean I know they’re DHing him, but it’s going Adam Dunn downhill.

@Random Collmenter, Thanks Collmenter! Glad to see my fav hater is back haha. I don’t think Minor is droppable myself, hell I was huge on him early in the preseason: http://thefakebaseball.com/2012/02/mike-minor-major-sleeper/

But a different starting pitcher that had a slightly lower K rate and wasn’t a first-round pick would certainly be droppable this early after dropping 7 runs to the Bucs. You kinda made my point… He had put together 3 tremendous starts and with one bad one it’s tough to think about cuttin’ him loose. But yea, I wouldn’t drop him myself.

@frank rizzo, I think the bottom might not fall completely out, but there’s no way I see Lynn as a top 30 pitcher. His WHIPs in AAA in 2010 and 2011 were 1.38 & 1.39… I see regression, but not to the point where he’s an ignore. Sell high if you can get something useful.

I’m not totally sure what to take from this other than I need to keep rostering him but the bottom may fall out soon. Is he a sell high for sure or could we be looking at Dave Duncan’s latest magic?
