@Pat Frost: This is about fantasy first and foremost, so that's where the digs about the Giants hitters come from. And don't like the Dodgers or Angels and rarely watch them. Cain has proven me dead wrong so far, but his numbers say he hasn't been as good as he appears to be.

Geez Louise Grey,
What's the deal with all the Giants' hate? You know you are talking about a playoff team right now, right? I know they may not have hitters fantasy relevant, but their good enough ball players to win games, which is all, what baseball is all about. You have also predicted all year that Matt Cain was due for a fall, a serious one at that. Well, you've been wrong. I love this site, but it seems like it's written by a worried Dodger fan. And you obviously have not read recent reports about Tim Alderson, he is losing his glow.

Why are managers so fkn dumb?

I have both Vazquez and De La Rosa both having pitched 7 and 6 innings respectively and at the 100 pitch mark or so. Both managers throw them out there the next inning and promptly give up a homer each because they are gassed.

I have never managed a ball game in my life. Bother homers have made the scores 3-2 and 4-2...very close games now. How is that I saw this coming a mile away and these "experienced" managers didn't?

@ Tony Y: Here's a link to my league's contract system, which has worked out well (see Article IX): http://spacemanleague.com/?page_id=97

The basics: You get 12 contract years to hand out however you so choose (meaning you can sign 6 players for 2 years apiece, 12 players for 1, etc.). You can sign a player to 2 contracts (of any length), then he must be returned to the FA pool. So there's a strategic decision to make whether to sign a smaller nucleus longer term or bring back the majority of your players each year with a narrower window.

We've also got a complex minor league keeper system too, but the basics of the contract year cap we've been working with have proven solid.
