@Grey: Yes… I’m talking about two different leagues… One is my NL Only Keeper league. I have Miller in that one… same league where I traded Soto for Furcal. Ugh. (history has to vindicate that decision, right?)… Other is a 5×5 mixed league. I have McCann in that one and it’s a two catcher per team league.

You’re probably right about Fuentes and Franklin. I just hate closers intensely. Total crapshoot every year. The lesser fantasy players often reap the rewards.

By all means, if you have other people to trade with Sherrill go for it, try and go a different way than Lee.

@Grey: Do you really like Lee over Zambrano or Hudson? (I think I know the answer to that already.) Or just as a potential return for Sherrill?

@SaltyBiscuits: Who are your other closers? You’re right to want to move Sherrill, who may get traded his own self in real life and lose the closing job.

But as long as he’s closing, he’s not necessarily a sell high candidate. And if you can get a real pitcher — Zambo, even Hudson, IMO — for your third best closer, rather than Lee for your 5th best, I’d pursue that. Or package Sherrill with a medium player for a position-player upgrade.

Lee has been golden for whoever owns him now, but as an acquisition, he’s double-trouble: a) bound to drop off, and b) almost valueless once he does, since everyone and their concubine is expecting it to happen. At least Zambo and Timmy have name-recognition going for them, if you need to flip them later.

Also: If someone needs saves, don’t be afraid to squeeze their sack a bit. (In a totally intimidating, non-affectionate way.) You have what they want, and they can’t git it nowhere else.

@Kevin: I think word is expected later today on what the D-Backs plan to do with Scherzer. At that point, it will be an easier decision to make. Also, Fuentes and Franklin haven’t been that bad. Fuentes just blew his first save and Franklin’s been solid.
