@Grey – Watched Mariano give up back to back dingers to Crawford and Longeria. He has also given up bombs to Jason Bay and Grandy. He gave up 4 homers all last year. His cutter looks flat. Could his elite closer days be coming to an end?

Anyone taking a chance on Jon Niese tomorrow? He looked like ass in 2 of 3 starts but dominated the Braves in 2008. His K/IP is over 9 in AAA but has been sucking it up until his last start in AAA where he struck out 8 in 6 IP giving up 1 ER and only 3 hits.

Hochevar with 8 IP, O R, 0 BB, 9K tonight. Three straight starts without surrending a run. Now 5-0 with an 0.90 ERA. He got MLB seasoning last year, he’s a former first-round pick, and he’s “blocked” by Sidney Ponson.
