while I have your ear, I traded Jay Bruce for Kendry Morales yesterday. Good trade? I would have been targeting Konerko or Helton at 1b since none would have been available so I had to do something. I think I made out like a bandit but I have yet to read anything regarding Morales that doesnt expect a big regression.

Lindstrom’s available in my 10 team NL only H2H league, I’ve got Qualls, Capps, Dotel. I think he’s the ONLY closer/possible closer left in FA (not including injury replacements) Is he worth a pickup? Do you think Lindstrom will run away with the closer role or will Lyon grab it by the end of spring training?

Unfortunately I don’t have much to drop at the moment, at least not until final cuts are made, but I could still see if I could work something out.

grey, you have michael taylor at pick 271. based on your projections you probably envision him getting about 350 abs. he isn’t being drafted even in AL only leagues, so that is good news for those of us who want to jump on him very late in deep leagues. could you tell me what see that the drafting masses are missing? a backup round selection that pays off like mike taylor can be huge.

Need to clear 3 reserve roster spots on my team (12 team H2H dynasty league). Should I keep Kyle Blanks and/or Fernando Martinez as a reserve outfielder? (Starting OF is Braun, Hamilton, CarGo, and Hawpe) Also, this is a 2 catcher league and I’ve currently got Montero, Iannetta, and Saltalamacchia on my roster. Thinking of letting one of them go. Should I keep all 3 catchers until their roles clear up or should I cut bait on one of these. 3rd spot will come from dropping either Rauch or Guerrier after the MIN closer role is decided.

@Grey: Apologies if this has already been covered. I’ve been reading all the articles and comment pages for the past few weeks.

What system do you think is best at projecting performance?
I saw you said Bill Jame was optimistic to a point where he should probably adjust his systems. CHONE seems to be overly-pessimistic on almost every one i’ve seen.

are any of these systems ultimately evaluated? what about PECOTA? the forecast manager on BP is $39.95. any more dependable than Bill James and CHONE?

@Grey: Grey, same team: would you trade Greinke straight up for Reyes? I think my staff is strong enough to lose Greinke, and with it being a H2H league, pitching isn't as important. OR do you think I should stick with Drew at SS and keep Greinke. If I took the trade, I could probably flip Drew and Morgan to someone.

If there's a run on OFs in the 2nd & both those guys are gone by then this plan gets blown up in my face. I'll try and squeeze him for more since you seem on the fence about the deal.
