Yes, I definitely agree and support most of those guys you mentioned. I mean, Griffey and Ichiro are my favorite players... but yeah, with Griffey, it is a little disappointing with his injury plagued career, but at least he's clean.

Jay
DatMoney.com
DatCurious.com

It's unfortunate that sports has come to this. It does make "records" pretty meaningless, doesn't it?

There was a great piece posted on Saturday in SportsJudge Blog discussing the ramifications of the Mitchell Report in fantasy drafts. I thought you guys might enjoy. I don't agree with all of the analysis, but it is interesting.

http://sportsjudge.blogspot.com/

i think it's also worth mentioning some players who exhausted all their natural ability to have those one or two banner seasons vs. use steroids and maintain those high levels. They include:

Bret Boone - 2001, 2003 (http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/boonebr01.shtml)

Brady Anderson - 1996
http://www.baseball-reference.com/a/anderbr01.shtml

Rich Aurilia - 2001
http://www.baseball-reference.com/a/aurilri01.shtml

Jay Bell - 1999
http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/bellja01.shtml

Luis Gonzalez - 2001
http://www.baseball-reference.com/g/gonzalu01.shtml
(actually he was pretty solid for 5 years)

Davey Johnson - 1973
http://www.baseball-reference.com/j/johnsda02.shtml

Your list does showcase a number of players who should be given additional props for not giving into the trend:

Griffey
A-Rod
Glavine
Maddux
Ichiro
Guerrero

Agreed, but I was trying to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps foolhardy, but trying to be optimistic...

Let's not forget that this is not a comprehensive list of everyone who's ever done steroids in baseball. Mitchell only had 2 good sources & both were East Coast guys. If he had a snitch on the West Coast (besides the tight-lipped BALCO), then we'd probably be looking at a huge list of players.

Your list shows a good number of people that "might" not have used during their career, but even that list is questionable.

Also ironic, is that two of the biggest markets were mentioned the most: New York (Yankees) and LA (Dodgers)
