@Scott – Any concern with Chafin that he has had some shaky outings or is this just a product of him trying to raise his Ks to get out of High A? Just gave up 4ER in 5 innings on Friday along with 6Hs and 4 BBs.

Get to see him in SJ this weekend so it will be cool to see for myself.

@TheNewGuy, I wouldn’t make that move just yet. A. Castellanos is already 25 & he’s never really been touted all that highly as a prospect. He’s one of those guys who keeps surprising folks by putting up quality #s at every stop, though. If he can hang on to 2B eligibility he might be a quality option, but as an OF… meh.

Re: Monty, command is the issue. Ceiling still very high & too soon to cut him loose. Let’s hope he puts a few nice starts up here soon, though…

@Rags, He’s probably a long shot for consistent playing time, so I’d lean towards no. Of course, the Cubs are kinda shitty & in need of new energy, so maybe they give him a chance at regular play if he starts off hot.

What is wrong with Monty (Mike Montgomery)? After looking like he might be starting to finally figure it out, he gets rocked in his last start (4BBs and 3HRs). Is the PCL part of the problem or are his bad numbers all his own doing?

When I drafted him on my keeper farm team last year I sure expected him to have made it to the show by now. Is it time to finally give up on him and take this Alex Castellanos guy you mention? If he’s got good upside and it’s not just a hot start, then I think i’ll take a shot.

I just made this trade, his Texeira, Ellsbury and Hellickson for my Halladay, Beltre and Jones(Baltimore)

This is a keeper league with 7 years left to go, my pitchers are Sabathia, Beckett, Hanson, Hudson, Fister, Bard, Doubrant, Worely, Capuano, Holland and Saunders. My hitters are Molina, A-Gon, Aviles/Phillips, Wright, Andrus, Hamilton, Jennings, Melky Cespedes, Trout, Middlebrooks and Crawford.

I know I will miss Halladay but what do you think of this moving forward?

@Peking Duck, Dozier’s certainly a more attractive fantasy option than Carroll. He’ll steal some bags & hit 7-10 homers. For now, looks like he’ll be everyday guy at short and I think he can stick. Taylor will bring value in AVG, a little bit of pop too. He seems like a good bet to win the everyday job at first, provided he can prove himself defensively.

What are your thoughts on Brian Dozier and Taylor Green who both got called up? Do you think they will stick and start for respective teams? Dozier presumably has gotten the full time starting gig but can he hold it?.
