Hey, am in a contract keeper league with 8 man farm teams. What about this kid Jose Altuve? All he seems to have done is kill the ball this year, including in his futures game selection. Good upside? Would you take him over Chris Archer, Edward Salcedo or Ben Revere (would possibly promote Revere to create a spot) when looking at long term upside? Thanks.

@Ryan: Banuelos wont see significant MLB time until late 2012, if not 2013. Johnson for the present play. Banuelos for the future play.

Hey Stephen,

I have a choice between Manny Banuelos and Josh Willingham both I will ahve locked up for 2011 and 2012, OR Kelly Johnson who I will have for 2011, 2012 and 2013.

I have heard that the Yankees like to have players travel throuhg all levels of the minors meaning Manny still has to go to AAA and it is doubtful he will pitch as a permanent starter until mid-year 2012, so whcih side do you think I should take?

@anthony: Keep Espinosa. Personally, I’d keep Hudson and not do the trade.

@cubbies299: Duffy is closest (been in the majors), but he’s not Turner or Taillon. I would keep your current options.

Hey, I have Rendon, Jennings, G Cole, Taillon, and Jacob Turner in my minors. Would you advise dropping one of them to take up Duffy? He’s shown great control lately and he’s closer to the majors than some of those names. Gotta pick him up soon

Pitchers: Nolasco, Shields, Price, Marcum, Harrison, DHudson, Colon, Scherzer, Scott Baker, Cordero & Perez.

Essentially I lose hudson & marcum but gain gee & niese. Also theres some risks i could take on the FA list such as wakefield,capuano, derek lowe, randy wolf, ervin santana …

Stephen what do you think ? My lineup would be C. Avila, 1b, Agon, 2b, espinosa, SS Tulo, 3B, Pablo, OF Pence, OF Beltran, OF Cuddyer, Util Brantley

@Daniel: Tallion grades higher in every category by half a grade. However, because Turner is closer and they are relatively the same age, I want Turner.

@anthony: I want the Beltre side if I need pitching and the Tulo side if I need hitting.

*** I was offered tulo, beltran, brantley, niese, and gee for beltre, hardy, morse, marcum, and dhudson. I figured tulo is going to heat up and overall is better than hardy. Beltre is the leader in Rbis for 3b but Pablo can easily fill in and can rake and hits for better average, obs, ops, and slugging… Beltran > Morse but i think i lose in the pitching department. What do you guys think – Is it worth it ?

Which sp prospect do you want long term?
Jacob turner or jameson taillon? I know turner will have at least a one year head start to his career but is taillon dynamic enough to take him over turner? Thanks

@626 jack: I don’t think so. His advanced metrics should give him a slightly longer leash. He does need to reduce the strikeouts.

@VinWins: Good to know. Hopefully those two HBP doesn’t re-aggravate the injury.
