Sorry for commenting on such an old post, but I have a little question about the Rookie eligibility. Wikipedia reads that a player should have indeed 130 at bats but before September 1. In the Lawrie’s case, he had only 89 AB in august and then 61 in September, so logically he is eligible for 2012′s ROY, no ?

I would really be grateful if you could answer me, as I’m working on ROY projections for 2012. Thank you very much !

Yeah, you would think so. Giants offense is starving for some production and Melky provides that. And Royals get a solid arm in their rotation. It actually took me a while to think who were their best SP. Bruce Chen, apparently, was number one.

Wanted to drop the news that the Melk-Man has been traded to SF for Jonathan Sanchez and a minor league pitcher.

The classic “great for real baseball, terrible for fantasy” trade.

As for Coch, I think he did the best with what he’s got. He has no respect from his old tribe, and the other tribe wouldn’t have respected him if he just kept rolling along. At least this way some people have his back (as much as can be expected in the game) and they respect him for standing up to his bullies. Now, he’ll probably go ruin that next week by whimpering and apologizing, but his only shot at winning is the “one vote at a time” route (it’s worked for others).

And really, how many multi-person alliances have worked post merge anyway? It could be an advantage to be the guy that no one wants to be aligned with, if played well. All factions will try to secure your vote, and you get to hear everyone’s plans… not to mention the “no one really likes him, I want to go up against him in the finals” factor.

@Awesomus Maximus: I still haven’t watched Real World cause I got sucked into watching other things like American Horror Story. I did, however, watch Survivor. One of the best episodes in a while. I loved Cochran’s move from a TV standpoint. Not sure I totally understand it from a game standpoint. I think he was just sick of Keith talking crap to him. He wanted payback. The speech Coach gave to Cochran was brilliant and gave me a new appreciation of Coach. I didn’t realize he was that perceptive. Finally, how has no one called him out for being a lawyer named Johnnie Cochran?

@Tony: I think the Mets should keep Wright and do keep him. As the Mets, you can’t go into the season with Ike Davis as your biggest star. If anything, they need to add names, not lose them.
