@Adam: I think Mejia’s upside was a number two starter. Ace? Probably not a lock-down starter. BA predicts a front line starter that throws a ton of heaters. That’s about his upside, which will be hard to reach. The transition to starter should happen in the minors.

Cashner will probably be in the bullpen until Zambrano is removed and regulated to the back of the bullpen and Silva falls back to earth. Not until then. Plus, Gorzelanny did fairly well in his spot starts. 3-year horizon, Hellickson. I’ve been pimping him for a few years now.

Really? I don’t pay too close attention to prospect’s stats. The way I figure it, if they are a top prospect, they won’t struggle for too long, and if they are hitting they’ll just get to the big leagues faster.

His name has more hype upside than other young flamethrowers. My gut said White, but that was the only name I didn’t immediately recognize when I read this post via my phone as my alarm was going off. After looking at him some more, I’d hold him as well. Aaron Crow has the least strikeout upside, but has name recognition. On a side note, Jaff Decker is struggling hard core this year. WOW!

Personally, I’d give up Crow and than Hagadone.

There are always glimmer hopes during his absences that the make me believe. The greatest Quad-A player may not actually be him though. Remember when Nelson Cruz wasn’t bashing in Texas? Kila Ka’aihue may end up being a better Quad-A player too. I am sure there are more as well that ware better, but Gordon may be up there if he can’t hack it at the MLB level.

I was just reading through BA and saw the pretty high ranked Castro, so I added him.

With the MLB draft coming up, I’ve been paying more attention to those prospects than to already in the majors prospects.

Just FYI, http://www.scoutingbook.com/ has pretty good analysis on all major league prospects, and has added in many of the draftees into their rankings already. Its a good read, and way to follow up on them.
