Many of us live triumphant lives. Some live more public lives but that doesn’t make them more heroic. Many of us have to deal with the ‘Billy Martins’ of the world and many of us have failed relationships with ‘zaftig’ spouses. But, that is no excuse for driving drunk.

It’s nice Matt Keough’s star will always shine in the Razzball world, there are lots of folks in the same situation who have no shining star, but I hope he gets help before he kills someone.

I just mentioned him yesterday. Weird. I was recalling a time when I was about about 8, when my friend and I (on our BMXs) were talking to a teenager. This teenager insisted he was actually Matt Keough.

Us: You’re shorter.
Him: I wear stilts when I pitch.
Us: He’s got a mustache.
Him: Fake mustache. Duh.
Us: You’re not Matt Keough!
Us (unvoiced): I wonder if that was actually Matt Keough.

Sorry, Matt. Here’s hoping you return triumphantly as White Mike in the movie version of the Wire in 2020.
