@Grey: So I took your advice Grey and held on to Billingsley. I ended trading Halladay and C Pena for Teixeira and Cain. I flipped Cain to another owner for Posada who is due to come back next week. I can now finally dump that schmohawk Johjima and actually get some production from the catcher position. Of course I was delighted to see Teixeira get 4 rbi's in his first game on my team. Thanks again.

@Chase: I think Rudy's considering dropping Melky and I've had four or five solid starts and one meltdown, so it's barely a win in my corner right now. Overall, I picked up Mike Cameron when I lost Melky and he's been better than Melky. Rudy's still in first and I'm a couple points behind in second, so it's still too close to call.

@Chase: He's a combination of plus power, great eye and some speed. He's for real. Don't sell him short. @john: I sure hope so cause, as TJ Lavin would say, my pitching is killing it in a lot of leagues, but my offense has been lacking. Which is odd since I draft very heavy on offense.

I watched Contreras last nite and he looked filthy at times…

I agree with you on Gagne, he is complete shit and he and Turnbow are one in the same at this point.

Does my SP situation warrant a pickup of Contreras right now or do you think I should hold onto Torres a wee bit longer to see if he can build some value and maybe have some owners in my league re-think about trading for him?

The Dude: I’m the biggest Uggla fan here and I can tell you he won’t keep this up. Even in his best season he is going to end up with a .270 average (.280 if you really want wishful thinking). The Fish dropped him down to the five hole just prior to his hot streak but I don’t think the batting position is going to turn him into a 110 rbi 40 homer guy hitting over .300. The new spot should find him a few more rbis – I think 100 rbis is a very realistic expectation for him this season (he had 90 or so not too long ago) – but I’ll be surprised if he gets to 40 homers. If you want to sell him now is the time to do it, otherwise get ready to absorb a lot of Ks and be frustrated from time to time. When he isn’t on he’s either swinging at really bad pitches or hitting pop flies to shallow left-center.

With that said, you can find me watching the Marlins games with my autographed Uggla baseball and Uggla bobblehead. Its become a running joke now with my league mates. Dan Uggla is ALWAYS on my team. Don’t ask me why, I couldn’t explain it if i wanted to.

@Tony B.: I wouldn't assume Gagne's going to be back in a week and I think Gagne's going to be crap when he returns and Torres will end up with as many saves as him, but with your league's categories I'd go Contreras (he's streaky, but on a good streak right now), Duch, Guthrie then Miller.

@nick: Well, Figgins's legs might be even worse than Soriano. Theriot has a great eye, so I'm not too worried about him. You *will* be taking a big hit in steals with this trade, it's all a matter whether you can overcome that, but I actually like your side of the trade.

This is a keeper league so that’s why I’m not looking into dropping Perez or Scherzer. I lead in saves over the 2nd place team by 13 right now.

I was thinking about dropping Torres to grab Miller. I can’t get rid of Torres through a trade b/c everyone in my league realizes Gagne will be back in a week so no one is going to give me any real value for Torres. I was thinking giving my gluttony of RP’s I could drop Torres and not let it hurt me. Other categories my league rolls with are K’s, K/9, K/BB, and WHIP so going back to Perez and Scherzer again, they really can help me in those categories even if they aren’t closing.
