And Garland will probably do a job for them. He appeals as one of those guys who’s more valuable to a real team than a fantasy one.

It’s impossible to look at his post-June 1st stats because he had no starts past the month of June. I must say I did not know he finished 1-9. He didn’t even pitch 100 innings. And from the looks of it, he’s a home scholar (0-5 on road with a 6.8 K/9). He had a 9.1 K/9 at home in case you were wondering. Regardless, he had 6 (out of the 10 games he started) games where the ‘Stros gave him 0-2 runs of support. I’m definitely with you on his sleeper factor and he’s someone I’d target late in the draft as well.

He’s a poor man’s Filthy Sanchez. I owned him in Razz and after looking at his numbers I realized he was somehow unownable in Razz. Even though he was 0-7 at the time and pitching in Houston, he was unownable! Pitching in the same division as the Cubs and Pirates should be enough to put him in the 5th starter slot you had Sanchez in last year. He’s also a bigger unknown than Sanchez was going into last season. Further, should anyone really be afraid of the Cardinals and Reds lineups? Not with those K/9 numbers! I’m too lazy to do it, but I’d like to see his numbers from June 1st on. He had some really good starts after he got his first win.

Granted his slash line was .229/.288/.300. Personally, I think Bourn’s 2010 season would be what we could expect from EY2: .265/.341/.346 with 52 steals and 84 runs.

Let’s hope it stays that way. Hopefully ESPN doesn’t gloss over the fact that EY will be the primary 2B. And Vasquez *should* remain somewhat unnoticed come March. I think FA signings that happen early in the off-season are forgotten after a few months.

Speaking of EY Jr., I think Bill James’ projection of 69 runs is pretty conservative considering he expects him to steal 46 bases.
