The only one I watched a little of was on the island of Palau. One of my friends whole family lives there, his Mother’s a Princess of some kind. Danny lives in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Go figure.

I mentioned above that people should grab everyone from today’s game. And I mentioned people should grab Twins as well because they will have to play the White Sox tomorrow.

HRs and Ks are top categories to focus on because HRs feed Runs and RBIs, while Ks feed all pitching categories except Saves.

@BigFatHippo: I agree. Webb’s going to win it and Lee, incredibly, will win it, as well. Webb and Lincecum will be close but the stodgy baseball press won’t give it to Lincecum.

Look how many times Pujols was passed over before he won MVP and should have won again when they gave it to Howard.

As for the AL, Lee deserves it. He had only one start that was not a quality start didn’t he? Amazing year.

This is hands-down the most interesting, most entertaining, and funniest baseball site, period. All that, plus genuine insights. And new words! (PABST lives.) And the commenting community is consistently excellent.

The only thing keeping me from the big Yearbook-style congrats is that (I hope) things well be running all winter, so this isn’t the end.*

*In fact, it isn’t even kind of the end, since they can’t seem to get that damn Chicago game played. If I was in a league where I was a) tied for first and b) this game counted, I’d be leaving fragrant ropes in my drawers right now.

I guess one of the great things (perhaps the greatest thing) about the internet is the exposure it affords you to cultures/environments/whatever you want to call them that are different to your own.

That and free porn.

I remember when I first found this site (after really only visiting the usual big sites), with some trepidation I posted some comment about the team I had just drafted. The response? “C’mon post your team – let’s see it” or somesuch and then a thoughtful post about the strengths and weaknesses of my team.

This was a world I never knew existed (@Grey: no jokes about New Zealand, thanks), and ever since it has pretty much become my default homepage. I’m already looking forward to next year and of course to checking in regularly during the offseason.

By the way, I finished third in my H2H league and given the number of winners here, feel a bit like the only Razzballer who didn’t get a bike for Christmas, but I am happy to provide a long list of excuses to anyone that wants to see them.

Of course, the usual method is: Look at team with best record. Choose player with best stats. This year, no one jumps out on the Rays or Angels. I bet K-Rod gets a bunch of (ill-advised) votes by numbnut sportswriters who wake up from a nap, see “Saves Record,” tick the box next to K-Rod and go back to sleep.

My fearless prediction, in order:

I don’t think Hammy gets near it, since he faded like a pair of Levis in the second half. (AS I PREDICTED. Not that this was genius prognostication or anything, but he still went first round mid-season in the RCL — a steep price for, what, 28 RBIs? SHOULD HAVE SOLD HIGH, SNITCHES.)

In the NL, there seems to be a lot of Poo-Hole love. But that’s boring and his team was lame. I have to think in any other year, a Cub gets it, but again, who? I bet Manny gets some votes, Utley gets some votes, maybe a few outliers for CC My Playmate.

But I think Pujols beats out Howard in a squeaker.

If the Mets hadn’t tanked yet again, it would have been Wright, which would have been right.
