@Grey: I have Duncan and Loney splitting time at Util with Coghlan on the bench. Madson is just sitting out there looking pretty as a peripheral with possible closing time in future. Picked up Frasor today as a Mr B ERA and WHIP correcter. Lose Loney for Madson? Other FA MR Bs are Putz and Delcarmen.

Hello – i have the sad misfortune of owning both Soria and Ziegler, and now with Aramis Ramirez my DL is maxed. I’m thinking of dropping Ziegler and picking up Madson and waiting until the glorious implosion of Lidge. smart? or should i hold onto Ziegler “just in case”?

@Basketnarb: I think he was a top 15 outfielder last year, no reason he can't come close to that again. He's underrated. @zombie: Hardy for Nolasco is fine. Don't think you're going to get much more with Hardy. @AL KOHOLIC: He could become unusable by his next start. Trade him away if possible or ride the lightning. If I were to take a stab, I'd say 8-5/4.00/1.30/100. @Euroalien: I'd go Beckett.

@Grey: despite collectively pathetic performance thus far, do I have this correct: Alexei, then Drew, Tulo, Hardy? I grabbed Hardy when DL’ing Drew from an impatient owner & with Drew due back, looked to deal the lowest of the 4 (I thought Hardy) for Nolasco. Did I aim to low on the pitching chain or did I choose the wrong SS to deal? My entire collection of 2nd tier SSs have been detriments to prosperity thus far! Oh, & Kinsler’s at 2nd so that aint an option. Thanks again!

Despite the recent 2-for-1 discussion recently, there are of course exceptions. Could this turn into one?

I was just offered Manny and Oswalt for Soriano. I’m not planning on accepting. But…

He guy who offered also likes my Ibanez and has CC, Halladay and Zambrano.

Is there a good 1-for-1 or 2-for-1 counter in this mess? I could use a SP and have a strong offense.

@GhostfacePrzybilla: i think it depends a lot on the specific keeper rules. if it's a larger, more dynastic kind of league where you keep 10-15 guys, it'd be real hard for me to give up both votto and price - they're both so young and so good, whereas utley is (obviously) very good but not that young, and cruz is almost nothing compared to the other three. but if it's more like a keep-4 then you probably want utley.

@Tony B.: Yes, we have this unflappable reputation of being the state that feeds the world. I suppose this won’t go away any time soon.

Here’s a fun fact of my own… Another part of the Iowa condition is the whole “nice” thing that we can’t get rid of. Last season, for several starts, Rich Hill was getting pounded in AAA during a game in Des Moines. During his final start at Iowa, he gave up something like 8 earned runs and walked 6 on 7 hits or something awful. Anyway, when he left the game, he was looking totally dejected, and I guess we sort of felt sorry for him, so the whole packed stadium gave him a round of applause. I mean, here’s this guy who just took a dump on the mound and gets a round of applause.

Sometimes we’re just too nice.

@Tony: Lyon = bad. But, he would be one of the few options. Zumaya can't come close to throwing strikes. Anybody think they would tinker with Dontrelle? Or would a tinker there spike anxiety levels?
