@IowaCubs: Need your insight. Jake Fox got sent back to AAA today. A two week long interleague play coming up on Friday for Cubs, but they decided to carry Aaron Miles, Andrés Blanco, AND Bobby Scales, instead of Fox when they need a DH.(Does he suppose be able to play as a backup 3B?) Are they really hate on Fox or there is something else?(Trade possibilities?)

Fox’s 0.61 BB/K rate in AAA this year looks pretty okay for a guy with his kind of power. Indeed he is not taking a walk yet and not seeing fastball often(52.5%) but he holds himself this time around in the Major. Why sent him back? I don’t get it. Do you see him getting callup again in the next few days? If not, does that mean there is no chance we see him again in the Major this year unless more injury strikes…?

@Elbert: I know! Who knew this new stadium would turn out like this? I'm stuck with: Burnett, Wang, Joba (he's alright) and Hughes (ok, he's been in and out of my roster). I'm cringing every time they're starting a game at home.

@DrEasy: i'm still fuming over Twin's mishandling on Baker's outing in 9th, but yeah man i feel you about Burnett; Burnett is very very lucky so far, and one example to note is his GO/AO ratio has completely altered, compared to his career norm (thanx to Yankess stadium), and he's HR% + BB% is up, while seeing decrease in infield PO% & K%. If i own any NYY SP, I would definitely try to unload anyone besides CC on Yankees rotation before July; almost whole rotation has gone from groundball-happy to flyball-happy, when heat come up during summer it's something to watch out for.

@Baron Von Vulturewins: I did the same (picked up Madson) after reading your comment yesterday or the day before. I think you said Lidge was a trip to the disgraceful list waiting to happen. Then I saw that they were playing the Mets this week and figured either they would not want to totally ruin his confidence by putting him in a position to blow one ag. their arch rivals, or he would blow one and be gone. @Gareth: A friend of mine in another league figured out the home/away splits for A-Gon. His away record was far better then any 1st baseman not named Puhols. And all that with non-existant protection. In the last several weeks, teams are treating Adrian like Barroid; he is walking 2 X's per game consistently. Right now, the Mets probably couldn't sign A-Gon or Peavy, for that matter, as their owner, Fred Wilpon, lost millions in the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme. Last year the Mets had the best record in baseball if the games ended after 6 innings, like Little League. K-rod is perhaps the most consistent closer in the league, so that problem is, at least partially solved. It would be completely solved if Putz was playing healthy. Omar had the choice of picking up either Ollie or Lowe, and like many before him, he was deceived by Ollie's potential, which will never come to pass, although I didn't believe that he would be this bad. At any rate, the Phils have pitching problems as well; Moyers is a Caucasian 50, the league will soon catch on to Bastardo, they have a team ERA that, if not the highest in baseball, is amongst the highest, and no one knows whether Madson will do the job as closer. They do have a sweet, sweet, lineup, no doubt.

@Paulie Allnuts: That's why they play the games, I guess. What's been overlooked in the consecutive September swoons is that, head to head, the Mets own the Phillies. As you said above, ya gotta believe! As for Peavy, unless you can move Queens to California or the Midwest it ain't gonna happen. And a cheap Gonzalez is surely no chance either, why would the Friars move him? Although he would be the only slugger in baseball who might benefit from a move to Citi.

@Gareth: 7 Homers!!! – That’s a month’s worth of dingers at Metco. I wasn’t able to watch all of the game, as my wife loves NCIS, ( a great show, for sure), but yes, best game so far. The Mets won’t catch the Phils, however, if Reyes doesn’t get back soon, and Maine and Pelf continue to be erratic (that’s being kind.) I would like to see them swing a deal for Peavy or A-Gon.
