I’ll be the lone negative voice (most people I’ve talked to liked it). I thought it was boring, unnecessarily convoluted in an attempt to be “deep” (sort of like The Matrix), and some of the casting bugged me (DiCaprio’s wife, Ellen Page). Thought the plot was stupidly ridiculous… with these kinds of movies, you give the movie a lot of rope because you’re anticipating it taking you on a mind-blowing journey, but this movie gave you conventional when you were expecting spectacular.

I will say that the scene where Gordon-Levitt fights the guy in the rotating hallway was pretty neat, but ultimately pointless. What did this movie have to say? What was its point? Who the hell cares? Not me!

But like I said, I’m in the distinct minority here (93% favorable rating on rottentomatoes.com), so take what I say with a grain of salt (per usual!).

Sure, but is Farnsworth any better? There have been many terrible pitchers who successfully closed (Kevin Gregg, Joe Borowski, Francisco Cordero). Rodney looks good so far this year (SSS-warning) and, like I said, the coaching staff likes him, so he may have a longer leash than people might think. There’s no doubt he’s going to spectacularly blow a few saves, but if he can convert 80%, it will be a successful season.

Saves Ain’t Got NO Face and that most definitely applies to Rodney.

As good as Braun is, do you think he is going to come around soon enough or do you think this has the makings of an off year for him without his fast acting testosterone to make it all better? If not, and if I can even get the other manager to do the trade, who would you package with Braun to grab Kemp?

@Grey, Agree totally. He showed glimpses last year but he just couldn’t quite put it all together. Now he has some confidence so it could be a huge year if he stays healthy. Esp in the Ws column if this braves offense keeps hitting. (how crazy is it that they are leading the NL in runs now after how bad they looked the first week?) Beachy should have had 15-17 wins last year but the offense was so anemic that it killed him there.
