I will be starting the playoffs Monday after a bye this week. Six transactions allowed per week. I have Kendrick at 2nd and Eric Young on the DL. I'm assuming Young comes off the DL this week, and I'd like to make a move now to preserve next week's transactions. So who would you drop? Any input is appreciated.

@Vinnie V, Those are fairly rough match ups to hope for shutouts. I think you'd probably be safer benching Kuroda and Peavy. That said, there's something to throwing caution at the wind and just trying to completely blow your opponent out of the water. Benching them is the safer mood, but if it was me I don't know if I'd be able to do that.

@Abdoozy, One more thought: StreamONator doesnt like Smith much, rating his start at a 97. But Kuroda and Moore are both rated lower than this, and I doubt many owners are considering benching either of those guys if they need a win. Have to take SoN with a grain of salt sometimes (and I feel your pain, I had Cashner too, fortunately I also had Medlen and Verlander to ease the discomfort).

@joe from point pleasant, Wow, what a motley crew. Here is one more thought: Smith pitched pretty well his last time out, he handled the Angels in July, and going against Haren at home he has a reasonable shot at a win. You could see a line like 7 IP, 3 ER, 6 Ks, a win and a QS. It's not a lock by any stretch, but the Angels bats have been kind of anemic lately (.254/.300/.404 last 7), so what do you have to lose? Seems a reasonable empirical case. Good luck

So going into the last day of a head-2-head final, my opponent must take back both ERA and WHIP to beat me. He has Gio @ ATL and Wainwright @ LAD plus 3 closers and will need 17 - 18 innings of shutout ball with whip of 1.00 to overtake the ratios.

I have Peavy @ MIN and Kuroda vs. TB, but should I sit them both, essentially freezing my numbers, and allow him to overtake strikeouts (which won't matter), and basically hope that he can't get two shutouts?

@joe from point pleasant, Yikes. Oak, Philly and SD are all red hot right now. And the Tex LAA matchups are rough as well. I'd probably go with Fife at home vs the struggling StL line up, but not happy about it.

Lyles seems like the best choice, and Stream-o-Nator gives his start a not-bad score of 103. His home ERA is almost decent (3.93), and it also looks like he has the best K/9 of the guys on your list. Otherwise, I'd probably go with Wolf, just based on strength of opponent and the ballpark. Stream-o-Nator doesn't have an opinion on him, though.

After starting Cashner last night, my season is on the line... i need some bigtime advice on a question that you would think should almost NEVER be asked...

Please help me pick one of the remaining FA starting pitchers to use for tomorrow in a last ditch effort, for a DEEP H2H points league.

The list is a real bunch of winners:

Randy Wolf @ Oak (Straily)
Will Smith v LAA (Haren)
Jordan Lyles @ Phi (Halladay)
Blake Beavan @ Tex (Harrison)
Alex White @ SD (Werner)
Stephen Fife v StL (Wainwright)

HELP PLEASE!!!

Scoring is as follows: IP(15pts), H(-5pts), ER(-10pts), BB(-2pts), K(3pts), Win (40pts), QS(5pts), L(-15pts)

Thanks!
