Do you have inside info on Wainwright that I am missing? All reports said it wasn’t too serious and to expect him back shortly after being eligible to return.

I need him to come back strong as my #2.

The rookie pitcher thing is an adjustment period and it happens to just about all rookie pitchers. Cueto might be out of it. He’s definitely worth trying on for size.

By the way, after months of skepticism, I am now a Cuetoliever. He looked dominant against the Yanks today, and I picked him up. (He’d been dropped awhile ago by his frustrated waiver-priority-wasting owner.)

There’s a recurring pattern with young pitchers — Lincecum, Hamels — that they struggle for a month or so when first called up, then put it all together. Maybe — maybe — this is Cueto turning the corner. Worth an add, at least, I think. See ya, Masa Kobayashi.

@BigFatHippo: Yes, do that. Maybe flip Hunter for a middling closer like Kevin Gregg. Saves are easy to replace, if you are vigilant.

I now have six-headed rotation of Hamels, Lackey, Cain, Lowe, S. Baker and Cueto. Of those final three, who do you like best through worst?

First offer I ever got from this guy and it’s a good one. I’m up by 11.5 right now as my buddy had a huge day. Went from 23 up down to this in a week, mostly hitting. Today sucked, how the hell do I get 3 losses from 3 all stars, Kaz, Hamels and Webb. Bout to throw myself off a bridge.

Just got offered Atkins, T Hunter and Broxton for Cantu, Nathan, and M Gonz.

I’m 1st in Saves, but 5 guys within 15 of me. Would leave me with K Rod and Franklin as closers, we don’t count holds. I like Atkins but what’s your take on Hunter? And do I take the hit in saves?

I’m thinking I should look to make a trade considering I have 5 OF’s…unfortunately OF’s are easily available in an 8 team league so they don’t have to much value but I’m looking to trade Chris Young, Pat Burrell, Jermaine Dye. Any idea of what pitchers I should be looking for in exchange for those guys and/or Wainwright ?

Now I’m not saying Tulo’s going to be as bad as he was, but what if he is? Right now his trade value is the highest it might be if that’s the case. How about moving Tulo, Headley and one of your fringe closers (which you have a lot of)? Or Tulo and Pence? Or Tulo, Pence and Headley? You have too many Utility guys. I’d try and do three for one. The problem is, your three isn’t so good, so your leaguemates may not bite. If you find anyone in your league wants Furcal or Mauer, I’d also consider moving them. I feel like they will cause indigestion.

@cruisinkc: Krispie could get up to .250 and I think the worst of his average might be behind him, but he’s not stealing this year thus far and he could only hit another 15 home runs. Victorino could hit 10 and get a lot more steals. I’d pass on this trade.

What is Wainwrights status ? Should I be looking to pick someone up considering I only have Sabathia & Greinke left…i’m 17.1+ IP so could use the break but will I have a pitcher back soon ?

so i recently traded bruce and ludwick for mauer and furcal since outfielders are much deeper and i had nothing for catcher or ss…hoping that i would get even remotely close to furcal’s production when he comes back and at least with mauer i wouldn’t have a napoli in there…

i also traded volquez and drew (JD) for pujols

leaving me with a starting lineup of:

obviously this is not a deep league with only 10 teams and not a whole lot of bench space…one player has to go if nobody is on the DL

i got aviles and tulo as possible insurance for furcal

i was trying to move marcum and (any combo of pence, murphy, headley) for a soriano/beltran type and i also would like to try and acquire figgins (totally stacking my offense) …now that marcum is hurt i can’t do that…i feel confident in being able to pick up serviceable pitching that can at least win me a category or two on that side

what can i do without moving my stud hitters to really make it happen???

My expendable players are pretty much limited to Aviles, Kaz, Headley, and Murphy. I want to hang onto Murphy because its a differentiated outfield and his 3-spot is nice to have. Headley is showing me some rookie nookie and Aviles is hot. I think out of the group Kaz is the most likely to survive a trip to the waivers if I really decide I need him back.

Another option is dealing one of my catchers (George or Bengie) to a team with a scrub for a third/fourth tier starter. Thoughts/comments/cuss words?
