I traded Braun for ZOBRIST & KAZ right after KAZ had like his second solid start, before he was dealt? Thats worked out great for me… moved up from 8th and 9th all year to 5th and 6th back and forth…. now if i just wouldn’t have dealt Nolasco for Lindstrom the day before he got hurt and aramis, beltran, Quentin, etc didn’t suck all year i’d be money….

0.7 is about equal to 2/3 (“two thirds”). Being a scientist, the convention in baseball statkeeping of writing “two thirds of an inning” as “0.2 IP” has always driven me crazy, since 0.2 is actually 2/10. Especially because it screws up ERA calculations unless you make a mental note that 0.2 = 0.67. Just goes completely against common sense.

Though typing “0.7 IP” as knighttown did isn’t really better, because it confuses everyone else who is already used to the weird-ass convention.

I usually just type out “two thirds” to be safe.

this was prompted by an excellent article of yours , suggesting to over-pay for what you need .
i felt particularly pleased that my targeted trading partner , while benefiting greatly from this surge in SB’s , would be taking category points away from my nearest competitors .

lopez was stinking it up , and i really didn’t expect too much from tulo .
however , since 8-1 , braun has been a big piece of shizz .

But, yeah, I’m thinking that if rule changes needed to happen they should have been voted on beforehand, or at the very least made well in advance of the actual draft

@stumanji: Thanks for your comment. I try to always draft to the settings. It makes a lot more sense that way even if most of my leaguemates just don’t comprehend it.

@Matt Sorrento: That’s garbage. Similar sitch in my baseball league before the season started. We had very low min. innings so I drafted a bunch of $12 Salads to dominate Saves and peripheral numbers. Commish then quadrupled the min. inning requirement. We eventually compromised. The actual number of innings isn’t what really bothered me, though. It was the fact that I drafted with the league settings in mind. When they were changed, that threw my strategy out the window.

I am in a football league and a baseball league with the same people and the same commish for both. We drafted our football teams a few weeks ago. Now, we had/have weird scoring rules for the football league (points per reception, IDP, and points for return yards gained by individual players). I tried to draft my team based on the custom scoring (last year, this strategy and Leon Washington won me the league).

Two days ago, the commish decided to change the scoring rules for the football league. He changed the return points from 1 point for every ten yards to 1 point for every 25 yards. Naturally, this really fuxxors my strategy for the league.

I posted this on the league message board:
“Don’t change rules after the draft unless you want to re-do the draft.”

That’s it. I got no reply from the commish and last night decided to not participate from the football league. I dropped a few of my players and benched my lineup.

So, imagine my surprise when I get home from work today to find that all my players are added back to my roster, my lineup has been unbenched, and I am locked out of (this is the fucking kicker) not just my football team but my fucking baseball team as well. My baseball team where the playoffs just started and I had gotten my team to second place in the regular season.

He posted this on the baseball message board: “Hey if you want to act like a little kid then i guess you can be treated like one… I guess if you want to add/drop a player you’ll have to ask me and I will do it for you”

I’m locked out of my team completely, locked out of the league message board, and locked out of being able to email anyone through the league site.

What the fuck. I can’t believe this shit. Please tell me that this guy is fucking crazy and I wasn’t out of line for being pissed about the rule changes post draft.

I mean, unless your counting SBs, but there’s no way he’s had near the value of (ugh, I know) Pierzynski, or even Thome, Konerko, and maybe Beckham and Dye (if you sat him the second half lol).
