Is anybody else just getting killed at 1B this year? I’m pretty pleased with my team but man 1B is a wasteland. After suffering through a month’s worth of Garrett Atkins there, I finally swapped a spare part for Mike Jacobs just to get some production.

I got close to completing a deal that would’ve netted Teixeira and Alex Rios in exchange for Carl Crawford and Manny, but at the last minute the Teix owner backed out as he wants to keep Teix for next year. Our league is particularly tough since we have a CI roster spot that eats up the extra 1B/3B. I can’t believe I’m looking forward to Mark Reynolds getting 1B eligibility just so I’ll have someone else to swap in there.

Thanks Teef. The move to second in the order will help the Riot w/ runs scored and average, I think he had 2 walks & hits yesterday.
I’m deep in pitching (Verlander, Halladay, Kershaw, Liriano, Scherzer and Zambrano – and have Tommy hanson stashed), other weak spot is OF. Have Ethier, Granny, Bradley not a believer in any of those, and Manny.
Package one of my OF’s and a P, but for who?

@Clyde Prompto: Not sure why this trade would be vetoed unless it is a keeper league and there is some value there that you didn't mention. On the other hand, why make the deal? I probably would take Kemp/Markakis side. I guess it seems pretty even, not lopsided enough to veto.

I agree the Theriot really doesn’t get much love at all – I picked him up as a replacement for the struggling Alexi but after doing some research on the guy I’m keeping him and I think he’ll end up being a higher rated SS than Tulo/Furcal – He gets on base a ton – he’s not getting more respect and hitting in the 2 hole and I think something like .295 90 runs 27 sbs are totally feasible/within reach and I think he can even improve on that avg and steal total.

Not to even bring up the HRs cuz it’s still early and it may be a flash in the pan but he’s got 5 on the year already…anything he adds here is just gravey but he JUST missed his 6th in yesterdays game as the ball hit off the top of the wall

I was going to try and get Jeter for him/hoffman but I’ve since rescinded the offer – I’m sticking with the riot.

in a 12 team mixed league, i give soto, kemp, markakis, hill, r zimm
i get d wright, crawford, iannetta, pence. it was vetoed, i don’t think it should have been. is it a fair deal? also it may be worth mentioning that i’ve been at the top of the league all year and it’s fairly competitive. so maybe there is some veto-spite going on.

@Doc: In that case, even his changeup has a pretty significant decrease in vertical movement this year. He's not a guy I'd rush to get but his HR/FB seems to be the biggest problem, his xFIP is more or less the same as last year.

If I have Kemp, Werth, Pence and Bruce in my OF, is it OK to deal Vlad for Wieters straight up? I asked about a couple variations of this deal yesterday, but I have it down to a 1-for-1, which I’m more comfortable with.
