I like Scherzer’s upside but he needs work and you already have that with Kershaw, Santana was nice last year but who knows what happens out of the gate when he comes back, I think Volstad and Nolasco are meh but I prefer Nolasco. I’d try to get Santana on the cheap and hope for the best.

Is Wandy sitting on your waiver wire? You could wait for a few bad games from Edwin and try to snag him from someone.

@BKK: I’ve always had a thing against Mauer (he was an autopick due to technical difficulties) and my league scores a lot of offensive stats that he doesn’t do – triples, steals, pretty much everything other than average – so I’m going to sit on him until Inge gets too bad to use everyday.

I’ve trimmed the bench bats down to 2 and built a dominating pitching staff between sweet drafting and astute free agent pick-ups. I can’t even trade him because that doesnt solve the problem of my over-capacity line-up. Inge has grown comfortable in the catcher spot but I don’t want to be holding the bag when he remembers he should be hitting .220.

This leaves me trying to package Inge and something else to plug Mauer in. Ugh. The only expendable piece is Hanson who was picked up to be trade bait. I wish my leaguemates weren’t so dumb so I could give away a piece; I’m pretty sure they will try to hose me by offering a piece of gum and a cracker jack toy for anybody I try to move.
