Soriano missed six weeks with an elbow injury, so this could be a significant setback. The Braves didn’t give details on his status. Manny Acosta got the save chance with Soriano out, but blew his second consecutive save. The Atlanta bullpen is in flux as a result, and Mike Gonzalez could take over the closer role when he returns from Tommy John surgery as early as later this week.

Dude in first doesn’t have the roster space to take 3 guys. Saito just went 1-2-3 K-K-K and Soria got a loss. He’s obviously not the reactionary type, and he seems fond of all 3 of his closers. Do you think after this L he might think he’s selling high on Soria perhaps?

Saito hasn’t had a save since May 21st (win, blown save, scoreless inning and a loss in four appearances since then), so you have to be thinking his owner is begging for value on a 38 yo closer.

You’re going to have a hard time taking Lidge or Soria. I’d offer the trade anyways, AND you can add Votto or Kershaw as a kicker or to swap for one of the closers. That’s where the need for roster space might help you out immensely here. I don’t think you help them out as much as you gain. If you can get Lidge or Soria for one roster spot, instead of Putz’ wonky arm and Soriano’s saves at the mercy of Cox, I’d do it.

Just left game with a hand problem. Looks to me like a jammed middle finger, maybe a blister. Doesn’t appear to be serious but thought you guys might want to know. Definitely not an arm problem, whew.

@cockyphoenix: I’m with pork burn on this. Clay-K might get interest from a Dodger fan, but that’s it. I like Votto, but I doubt there is much demand for him either. Who is the closer you want to trade along with them? Maybe just drop the closer if you aren’t desperate for saves.
