It will go largely unnoticed but a nice little piece of managing by Mattingly. With Luebke struggling, Kershaw fouls the first bunt attempt. (I think this is the key point in the inning. Mattingly knows Luebke isn’t used to getting shelled and his last concern is the runner.) So, Mattingly sends Carroll. Steals second. Next batter, Dee Gordon. Sends Carroll again! Of course, Gordon struck out. But Donnie Baseball put sorry ass Jamey Carroll in a spot to score when everything was working against him. Just an observation. I could be wrong.

@Eddy: I must have missed the part about unlocking if someone wants to pick someone up. I'm still not a huge fan. I'm in two keeper leagues that keep 5 and pretty much no one but those in the playoffs pick anyone up for it to be a problem.

@Wilsonian: Yeah, I see what you mean. We keep five, though, so if anything there's always a need to narrow and not expand (drop/trade and not add). And again, I don't tell them, "Hey, you're done adding or dropping for the season". If someone wants to pick someone up, I gladly open up there roster and let them make the changes. Doesn't happen as often as you'd think. Last season I was only asked about 4-5 times to unlock a team to add a player (which in the end none were kept). And if you want to get into the nuances of the ordeal, our playoffs start on Sept. 5th. That leaves four days before teams are locked to take advantage of MLB teams opening their rosters.
