Is J.P. Howell worth owning now? Is he the on unofficial closer? Worth dropping a guy like G. Floyd for? Already got Haren, Bills, Cueto, Bedard, Carp, Dice-K, Kazmir at SP & Broxton, Francisco, Aardsma, Madson at RP.

Hey Grey, quick question. I have Lindstrom and Kalero, but obviously Nunez is the next in line if Lindstrom fails. Am I trading too much if I trade McCutchen for Nunez? This league doesn’t buy into rookie nookie all that much so I doubt I can get a ton for him anyway. This would at least buy me all the Marlins saves.

I just picked up Kemp in another trade so I was gonna make up some of the steals there. Was hoping Al-Ram might chip in another 15 sb’s on the year w/ respectable stats elsewhere too. The trade talks w/ Alexei’s owner haven’t gone that well since he took him in the 3rd rd & has been trying to get me into a 2 for 2 w/ my including Gallardo/Cbills…

I lost Reyes to the DL & picked up Andrus as a stop gap. Also have Felipe the super sub Lopez. My team has dropped to a last place tie for sb’s. Would you agree my staff is deep enough w/ Cbills (non-keeper eligible), Gallardo (7th rd), Wainwright (17th rd), Lackey (6th), Slowey (19th) & Baker (14th) that I can afford to dish one of my #3-6 for Al. Ramirez? & is it worth adding in madson or gregg as a throw if I need to sweeten the deal? 11 team 5×5, get to keep guys for next year in their 09 draft round.

@Grey: Hell, he's exceeding most anyone now. He's #10 overall in ESPN rankings! He's just getting better every week, learning to go to the opposite field is making him a pain in the ass to pitch to, and Kirk Gibson has done a great job coaching his baserunning. His raw speed will help his batting average as he'll get some extra infield hits other guys won't. Still strikes out every 3rd at bat but who cares?

@Grey: Seriously, seeing era's over their last 3 games of 11.7 for Guadin, 10.03 for Geer, 4.76 for Young, 3.86 for Correia, and 10+ for the schmohawk that fills in for Peavy, would is their really much more risk in choosing Aardsma over Bell? SD might win 1/3 of remaining games?
