What happens when two meatheads stop being polite and start getting real? @BigFatHippo: K-Rod's much younger when he did it, but saves are a very fluky stat. He may only get 35 saves in 2009 and it wouldn't surprise me that much.

Not sure who can be as useless as Steve Karsay or Chris Hammond or Jaret Wright or Carl Pavano.... @Eric W: I propose a reality TV show on YES for Shelley Duncan, Shane Spencer, Kevin Maas, and any other B/C-level sluggers that came up over the years. ya 99 was the year that 2 writers left him off the ballot because he was a pitcher even though the 1 guy from ny had voted for pitchers in the past. i think youk and pedroia are interchangeable depending on what stats you value the most. wright would not be a bad choice either but i actually have heard some talk about ryan howard cc sabathia and manny it would be a joke if either of those 3 won

I called Youuuuuk at the ASB, but I think Pedroia might win it. I just hope K-Rod doesn't win it. The NL is going to be so close. I agree that Pujols should win it. I think Wright might sneak in.

i would take youk over pedroia in the a.l mostley because he filled a huge hole by playing a solid 3b with lowell out freeing up 1b. and pujols in the n.l he some how flew under the radar this season. but as long as a pitcher does not win i will be happy because ever since pedro martinez was robbed in 99 (may have been the single greatest year ever for a pitcher) no pitcher has even come close to earning it
