Makes me think of Jennifer Aniston.. She acted all happy and lovey-dovey to be with Vince Vaughn after she and Brad split. But it was fake, she just wanted to cover up the pain and depression of losing Brad. Just as Red Sox fans are faking their love for Bay to cover up the pain of losing Manny, a World Series MVP and one of the greatest personalities in MLB history.

Any thoughts Grey, my weakest categories are K’s and saves, and i already have Markakis, Quentin, Rios and Matsui if he comes back in the OF, so i felt Hart was expendable. I’m not comfortable with Garza.

@Steve: Nah, he’s gone.

@JR: Sounds like a decent bet on Scherzer, but I wouldn’t have dropped Rodney for him. Saves are a category whereas possible rookie call-ups are not. Though Rodney might get replaced at any point, so it’s not awful.

@Denys: I’m assuming you’re asking about Juan Rivera and Adam LaRoche. I’m not sure because you’re writing in half sentences. I would drop Adam LaRoche for Juan Rivera.

One forgets how he was dominated AAA this year (as much as Liriano has of late). He started in Tuscon tonight. This fits a recent pattern of throwing him on exactly three days rest. (There not even thinking about throwing him back to back). First he went 2 innings, then he went 2 innings, and now he went 3 inninings. He threw exactly 50 pitches.

Relief role? Maybe. But they just traded for Rauch. I think they’re stretching him out. The D’Backs are going to have to battle (see the Dodgers), how long are they going to go with Petit?

I’m buying. This could be Joba circa 2007. It’s “upside” at the margins, as Grey would say. The best thing? Everyone’s got those junky speculative closers around….

I’m dropping Rodney for Scherzer.

@Scott S.: Yeah, the trades make no sense. Manny was for TV purposes to battle the Angels. The Sox traded for a player they already own in spades, Swisher, Konerko, Dye, Thome, Quentin, Crede, etc. They’re all the same player. Really baffling decisions.

Today’s trades for the Dodgers and White Sox don’t make much sense to me. Last I checked, the Dodgers need a SS.. Not a 10th outfielder. But maybe they figure they can put Manny at SS and he won’t know the difference. And why did the White Sox trade for a guy with no legs and a slower bat and expect him to play CF..? I feel like the trade actually makes the White Sox worse.

But anyways.. I’m gonna start checking TMZ regularly for any Manny sightings. I expect him to be out in Hollywood partying with Lindsey Lohan and Hannah Montana on a nightly basis.

Any hope of Rhodes taking Greggs spot in Fla? I already added him in the RCL so you can answer.
