Yea, Phillips is underappreciated for whatever reason. Grey hates him. I also have Cano and A Ram II as 2B options. I figure people always need 2B, so I am hoarding them.

Id stay put, I think the cost of getting Utley won’t be worth the upgrade. If your only 2b was Weeks then it would be worth the move. Phillips is having a surprisingly good season, ride him out.

I don’t think Hudson is so much better than Contreras that it balances out the drop off from Utley to Phillips. I’d rather make do with Contreras and keep Utley.

Its not THAT bad . . . but I don’t think he’ll consider it.

He’s DL eligible in Y? now. Act accordingly.

@pork burn: I would miss Crawford’s steals somewhat but he doesn’t seem to offer as much as Holliday does overall. I also have Kinsler, Furcal (if he ever gets healthy), Victorino, Granderson, McLouth, and Abreu for potential speed. Crawford’s hoped for boost in power has not happened this year. Lowell seems to excite no one but I really actually do like him since he bats 5th in that lineup. But if not, like I said, Miggy can be moved because I also have Connor Jackson, Giambi, and even Swisher to cover 1st. There’s a lot of decent options to play 1st.

@Frank Rizzo: I don't think thats a bad move. Miggy should turn things around enough to be serviceable (if not more), Holliday is Holliday, CC is looking like his old self. Wright is obviously a great player, Crawford isn't half bad but I think he's overrated for everything other than steals. If you don't need Crawford's speed you win.

On the tails of all this Mets are a crappy organization talk I’m considering a big trade because I think the Mets are a sinking ship.

I give…Wright/Crawford

I get…Sabathia/Lowell/Holliday

I need pitching for starters, think Lowell may be undervalued a bit but also have Miggy to play 3rd instead of 1st if Lowell busts, and I’m weak in the power categories and Holliday will do what Crawford won’t.

I loves me some trading. How stupid am I?

@KarlJ: your 100% right, how about the Pedro signing? I mean the guy was the best pitcher in baseball but he was aging and they sign him to a huge contract? Since coming to the Mets Pedro has been a failure because of injuries, he has given the team nothing.

@Grey: I agree, I live in NY and until the Mets started the biggest collapse in regular season history every Met fan I knew loved him. I couldnt understand it, all I saw was Minaya signing over priced veterans which now is killing this team with all the injuries. Look at Alou, he starts the year on the DL then comes back a months later to play one game and go back on the DL, unreal. Thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee Fan.
