Ramos was kind enough to join Sandoval and Ellsbury on my DL, so now I need to acquire a catcher. Salty and Pierzynski are the best waiver-wire options, so I'm trying to pry away a surplus catcher from teams that have more than one. I've got SPs and closers to spare.
Team 1 has Carlos Ruiz and J.P. Arencibia. He needs help in ERA, WHIP, and QS, so I might do better offering him a SP. He's already offered me Arencibia for Jim Johnson, but I think I can do better.
Team 2 has Mauer, Doumit, and Posey, but he's starting all 3 as his offensive bench is pretty ugly. He needs help in SVs and K/BB but is strong in other pitching categories. He rejected Johnson for Mauer, and I'm not sure if he'd be any more interested if I offered Putz or Betancourt instead.
Team 3 has Wieters and Lucroy and could use help in most pitching categories.
Ruiz, JPA, Doumit, and Lucroy could all probably be had without giving up too much, but none of them seem like large enough upgrades over Salty/Pierzynski to justify a trade. I think I'd prefer doing something like Kenley Jansen for a top catcher. What do you think my best option would be here?
