The Padres Angels swap of Frieri for Amarista is a good one. Smart. Angels have a glut of position players. Amarista is not bad. He passes the eyeball test as an MLBer. The Padres have Bartlett and ODog and Andy Parino and ECab behind them. Not as if there's a lock down in the middle infield.

Frieri is nasty. His ball is heavy and has late movement. He's also business. No effing aroung. He could close. Probably won't but Walden had a minor demotion last night...look at the box. Scott Downs is decent but flawed. Just sow the seed in case it make a difference come July.
