Got the save vs BOS. Is it worth dropping Cordero for him?

Naw, I'd say lose LoMo for him but you wouldn't be able to start him anyways. I'd hold.

I still think Reed ends up getting 9th inning duties. Kid can pitch. I'm stashing him...

Any thoughts on how soon we might see Reed closing? Thornton has looked good as of late.

As someone who owns Santiago and dropped Thornton just hours before Hector's blowup, I'm a little biased, but Ventura says Santiago is still the man and he was warming up in the ninth yesterday. Robin said Matt has a good history vs. Ortiz and Agonz so he let him run. Hector gets at least one more chance. But yeah, another total disaster and I think it's probably Thornton or Crain depending on matchups then Reed gets a shot if these guys falter.

Thornton did nothing to help himself out last night. Got an out, walked Ass-dribble, gave up a 2 run bomb to Hafner, then he gave up a single to Santana and was yanked. That's a 54.00 ERA and a 9.00 WHIP for those of you scoring at home.

It's still Santiago's job. I think he hangs on for another week or so, then it goes to Reed.

Has Reed developed an effective off-speed out pitch yet? That's what is holding him back. He was working on a change. He won't get the job until he proves that he is more than a FB pitcher. Ventura does not manage like a fantasy team manager ... he goes with established baseball wisdom, one tenet of which is that your closer can't only have one pitch.
