Billingsly Blockbuster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby Big League Chew » Fri Mar 13, 2009 8:18 pm

So everything that I have been hearing about Bills has been great. So I thought that I would pick him up. What do you think about this?

Me to trade: Jason Bay, Furcal, and Cordero

Me to receive: Bills and Pence

He needs SS and I need SP even thought I just made a sweet deal in this keeper league to get Lackey for Hunter and a 1st round in next years draft. I also have Santana, Cain, Weaver, Pettitte, and Young.

My SS is Tulo (keeper league) and OF is Spakakis, Justin Upton, Chris Young, Bay (maybe Pence)

What do you think?
Settings: highly competitive h2h (12 keepers, 27 man, 2 DL, 1 NA) 12 team = R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP, SLG | W, K/BB, K, S+H, K/9, ERA, WHIP, QS

C – Mauer
1B – Fielder
2B - Scooter Gennett
3B – Sandoval
SS - H. Ramirez
OF (4) – J. Upton, Adam Jones, D. Fowler, Avisail Garcia
UT - A. Gonzalez
BN - Andrus, Chris Carter, Kelly Johnson

SP (3) – Hamels, Cingrani, Tanaka
RP (3) - Holland, Rosenthal, Frieri
P (3) - Peralta, Kintzler, Cain
BN - Porcello, Josh Johnson, Smyly, Martin Perez, Wily Peralta

Eh, I don't think it's great for you. Think you can give up less for those two.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

What do you think about me offering Lackey and Furcal for those two. I agree with you that I'm overselling, but he won't bite. I get a queasy to my stomach right before I click and I see Bay 111 runs, 31 HR, 101 RBI. By the way I loved your tier for 2009. That has helped me realize who I need to go for. I picked up Pettite and traded for Lackey right after I read it.

I like the trade of Lackey/Furcal for Bills and Pence. I'd do that.

So he hated the idea of Lackey/Furcal for Bills/Pence. He shot back with another offer: I trade Bay/Furcal/Chris Davis for Bills/Adrien Gonz/and another player which could be Pujols, Hamilton, Pence, Magglio Ordóñez, Brad Hawpe, or A-Rod. We're in a 12 team/12 keeper league with 25 man rosters H2H with 8 hitting and 8 pitching categories. I want good players with good head room but also be good for a few years. The ideal would to get the best 12 I can find, then add support. I'll bold my "keepers" as of right now.

Here's my roster:

C Ryan Doumit
1B Chris Davis
2B Robinson Canó
3B David Wright
SS Troy Tulowitzki
OF Jason Bay
OF Nick Markakis
OF Justin Upton
BN Chris Young
Util Rafael Furcal
BN Mike Jacobs
BN Miguel Tejada
BN Alex Gordon
BN Jorge Posada

SP Johan Santana
SP Lackey
SP Matt Cain
SP Chris Young
RP Jonathan Papelbon
RP Francisco Cordero
RP Brian Fuentes
P Mike González
P Jered Weaver
P Andy Pettitte
BN Huston Street

So is this even worth dying for? I like Bills, but with the addition of any of these players be good for both teams? I'm all for being fair, but I don't want to give away good stuff just because of hype about Bills (even though he's already good.)

Thanks for the tip. Do you see any areas that I could improve and ideas for players to target?

Your team's a little light on speed. Two great spots for speed 2B and SS are both filled with two guys that won't be stealing much. You think you could move Posada and Tejada for something? Say Maybin?

So he's still willing to give me Bills. He needs the SS.

My 2 offers are:

1) Cain/Furcal for Bills

possibly
2)Bay/Furcal for Bills/Pence

I have offered him a deal like the #2, but he wants more. I don't think that I should go for anymore than what I have put on the table in these 2 trades.

By they way I'm looking at Maybin to help with speed.
