I've just been offered this trade, not sure it's worth bothering with. CC would help the pitching lineup for sure but Altuve is a huge hit at 2B. The only thing making me think about taking this is that I have Utley stashed on the DL. But having Utley stashed on the DL is like having dreams of being a rock star. Shit's probably not going to happen. Thoughts?

I'd actually take that deal. But I've never been big on Uggla...

You're getting the best player in the deal by far.

Well thats 1 vote each way. Anyone else? Grey? The guy also has Ellsbury and Upton so I was thinking about targeting 1 of those guys in the trade while value is low.

As a Sox fan, trust me when I say that if you're going to buy Ellsbury, buy really low. He doesn't have the best track record of making quick recoveries.

The trade as-is is hot garbage. That's a no doubter denial. Assuming Peavy is back to pseudo-Peavy-ness, you're getting run over in that deal. CC is the better SP, but I'd take Uggla if I had the choice. And I'd prefer Peavy over Altuve.

Sorry, but that's retarded. "Peavy-like" is a tad above hot garbage. Don't give me his upside bullshite. If it isn't an injury that derails him (inevitable), he'll be on the ww in 3 weeks because of a string of piss poor performances.

Uggla's okay, but only has power. Not gonna give you a '10 type year with hr's, rbi's and a good avg. Just don't see it.

I still say take the sure thing in CC. On that team, he;s good for many wins and will be dominant once again as soon as the thermometer hits 75+ degrees.

Well, you guys have been no help. I'm still torn as of which way to go. Anyone else care to chime in? I think it really hurts me at 2B down the road but right now Uggla is struggling. Is the drop off at 2B too much to overcome? Do I even need C.C.?

I'm taking Uggla all day everyday over CC. And Altuve plays for a shit team that scores no runs. Always go bat over SP. And Peavy has looked pretty damn good. If nothing else, try to deal Peavy (and one of your RPs) for a better SP to someone who thinks it's 2006.

Maybe it isn't hot garbage, but it doesn't help your team in any way, shape, or form. The drop from Uggla to Altuve is monumental. The bump up to CC from Peavy isn't near as monumental.

Plus...

...you have Hamels, Greinke, Moore, and Haren. Why do you need to sacrifice your offense for another top pitcher?
