I've got a lot of risk on my pitching staff and am looking to add a safe, upper tier starter if it makes sense. I'm in a 12 team H2H points league:

SP (Start 4, weekly lineups) Bumgarner, Gio, Latos, A Sanchez, Morrow, Zimmerman, Marcum, Cahill, Chacin, Wandy, Minor, Lynn
RP Axford, Valverde

The other owner paid $5 more at the auction for Greinke then I did for all 3 of these guys. Howard still is a big risk. Gio & Latos showed nothing in their first start to make me forget the a$$ raping they did to me at times last year. This will give me some lineup flexibility to target hot waiver players. I think it makes sense...

I'm sure you're looking for help from one of the vets here. But I like this deal and idea for you. I'd go for it

I think it helps me but it's pretty fair on both sides. If I had faith in Gio & Latos I'd stand pat but with the amount of risk in my pitching staff it would be nice to have someone I was fairly confident in.

I think the cycling of Latos and Gio for 2 start starts is worth more then just Greinke alone. You SP looks pretty deep though so I think you could make the trade if you wanted to.

After watching how good Gio looked today and how bad Greinke was shelled has caused me to sit tight and re-evaluate this deal. this same owner has Lester and thinks less of him than Greinke so I may try a Howard, Latos & Chacin for Lester type of deal.

Good call. Gio looked nasty today.

I'm no expert, but I don't think you need Greinke, regardless of today's shelling. All else being equal, I'd just sit tight.
