Just as an FYI, Santana is looking every bit as great as his line would suggest through four innings... His location is spot on; he's nailing the outside corner over and over again with both his fastball and his change up... His change up is fooling hitters even in the second time through the lineup. Velocity is hitting between 88 and 90 on the vast majority of his fastballs and his change up has been at between 77 and 81.

If he stays healthy, I can see him finishing with a low 3 ERA or even a high 2 ERA. He looks as good as he did back before he got hurt. He's not going to lead the league in strikeouts, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he maintained a 7.5 or 8 kper9 for the season with room to grow.

Luckily, I drafted him in my RCL and a few other leagues, but personally I think he is a good add right now if you're looking for a pitcher flyer to replace one of your injured closers or blah-tastic starters.

And of course he gives up a double and walks two after I make this post...

Stamina could be an issue early on, judging by his 5th inning today, but I still think he's a good add.

I think he will be fantastic. Also, I think he will be limited all season on innings like today. Got out of a nice crunch with Bourne. Fun to watch. Took him in both my leagues with last pick. I like that value.

I watched this game as well. He did look really really good. Not sure about ERA in the 2's, but it certainly supports the fact that Johan is every bit a Pitcher who doesn't need 95 to be effective. The other issue is the injury concerns are still there. If I was an owner of him I'd hope for another 3-4 starts like this and see what I could get for him, similar value but safer with regards to the injury.
