Grey wrote:I wouldn't put on any stipulations about protecting a player. You didn't have any stipulations when you chose your keepers, right?
The only stipulations were these:
- you can only keep one player from Rds 1/2
- the remaining 3 keepers can be from any round, or, any minor league player
- the obligatory how long you can keep a player

So, you are suggesting:
- we let the new guy choose up to four keepers from the keepers of the original 6 teams
- if the new guy chooses less than 4, he gets a draft pick
- no protections on keepers (ie, all keepers are available to the new guy)

Keeping with our rules, the new guy would only be allowed to choose on 1/2 Rd keeper.

Does that sound right?

Yup, exactly.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Sorry Grey, more details...

What is the appropriate compensation for a manager who loses a keeper to the new team?

Say the manager loses his first (or second) round keeper (eg, HanRam) to the new team.
What does that manager get to do? Extra 1st (or 2nd) round pick?

Also, should the new team not get a draft pick in the round from which his keepers come? For instance, the new team chooses another manager's keeper who was a 4th-round pick last year; should the new manager then forfiet a 4th round draft pick?

If I understand you correctly, a manager who loses a keeper to the new team gets no compensation (per se) and the new team gets no draft pick in the rounds from which the keepers come. That right?

That seems fair to me. Or maybe the four teams who lose a keeper get the first four picks at the draft? Choosing random which order.

That's what I'll propose to the league, Grey. I'll say it again, I truly appreciate your help in this matter!
