As a newbie I was wondering how best to set my lineups for my Roto and H2H leagues. My teams are posted in my signature. I have to start 2 SP's and 2RP's but how many SP's vs. RP's should I fill in the rest of my P roster spots with? Is it different for H2H vs. Roto?

Also on the offensive side Roto seems pretty easy to understand but how much should I look at my opponents team in my weekly H2H 5x5 league in setting my lineup. For instance, if I have perceived strengths or weaknesses vs the opponents roster (i.e. I think I can win SB's and HR's if I start my SB and HR guys but it might hurt me on BA) should I adjust my starting lineup accordingly or just try to put the most balanced best lineup I can out there and let the chips fall where they may. Thanks in advance for any advice.

You go week to week per matchups for H2H... You change roto depending on player's performances...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

In your Roto league do you have innings limits, or appearances limits on your SPs and RPs? If so that will affect any answers.

In the H2H, it could change week to week I think. If one of your HR guys is hot, you can sit another maybe to start a speed guy... however quite often I think I've been burned by overthinking these sorts of things, so be prudent.

SO, maybe figure out your true starters - you drafted them so why wouldn't you play them, then maybe adjust as the week progresses. I like to make sure my lineup is full as possible on Mondays and Thursdays and by about Wed night if you're doing really good in one cat or another make some adjustments? You'll figure it out. The nice thing is that if you have a bad week in H2H, who cares, just come back and win the next one. In roto you dig holes with underperformers...

1400 innings limit on Roto for pitchers and 7 innings weekly minimum on H2H for pitchers. I guess what I am struggling with the most is should I be starting more than the 2 RP's in my required RP slots or in other words should I ever start a third or even fourth reliever over a starting pitcher on my bench.

In Roto leagues I try to maximize my relief pitchers.

Last year if you had Kimbrel, Hanrahan, Jansen, Clippard & Venters: you would have had-16 Wins, 96 Saves, 484 K, an ERA near 2 and a WHIP of near 1 over 376 innings. I'd much rather chase these type guys in the 2nd half of my draft as opposed to starting pitchers that are crap shoots or hopeful upside picks and probably guys I'm gonna drop a month in. Go for set-up men with nice k/9, era and whip #'s like-Clippard, Jansen, Reed, De Los Santos, Venters, Adams, Robertson, Holland, Pestano, Romo-a beast, Uehara, Marshall
