Obviously I need a SS (and C) as my targets didnt fall to me (D Gordon, Jesus). Notable FA SS's are A Ramirez and I Desmond. Was pretty content dropping Cahill for Ramirez until i got this offer in my text machine:

I'm of the belief that you need a lock down stud at the top of your rotation and I think there is none better than Kershaw. But, w/ SS such a shafty position this year, this could tip my offense over the scales. I always trade SP for Offense but usually deal from the backend.

Not to sound redundant but, Tulo

Is team need a consideration here or do you just take the best player and figure it out later? Not that my pitching isnt strong, but would it be a wiser choice to trade a middle tier SP for Dee Gordon to address my SS and Steals deficiency without giving up my stud SP?

Or still Tulo?

1. It makes sense for your team as you have a very solid pitching staff behind Kershaw. I understand wanting arguably the best pitcher in baseball anchoring your staff, but this would make me lean toward Tulo

2. It's head to head which makes all starters less valuable. If you have specific SP spots you can drop a SP/RP eligible reliever in to eat up innings while your starters are inactive for the majority of the week. Likewise, you can always play matchups with waiver wire players (even with 2 moves, you won't need them for your offense). You won't notice Kershaw's absence as much Tulo's. I'm leaning toward Tulo again.

3. Tulo's value over replacement is rediculous to begin with. Add to that the fact that you're talking about filling that spot with Alexi and it becomes even more so.

My pleasure. I wouldn't fault you if you still wanted to look for steals on the waiver, but there are better places to plug them in (OF, UTIL).

Done deal. Sad to see Kershaw go, but excited for total offensive domination. Now i just need a Catcher!
