There seems to be this consensus that Ellsbury is the real deal, at least in terms of 1st round value. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it so here I offer to the board this question:

I'm in a keeper league and am stuck with Braun being out 50 games, most likely. With them both being nearly the identical age, which one would you want in a keeper league? Keep in mind we keep by round drafted the first year a player is drafted and then after that based on the value they produce for the year IF their value goes up. For example, Ellsbury was drafted in the 6th in 2011, so he can be kept in the 6th in 2012. If he produces 1st round value again, he has to be kept in the 1st round in 2013.

All this said, I'm stuck with rounds 1,2,3 being kept with Miggy,Braun,Tulo. Tulo has not cleared the 3rd round value hurdle so moving Braun would give me a 2nd round pick and be able to anchor my pitching or my hitting with whatever the best player available is. The big part here is, though, is the trade a talent wash and thus in my favor because of draft position for 2012 or am I giving up the better player? Would love to hear some opinions, thanks!

Alright, its been offered. We'll see if he dives in. I traded him Hanley for Tulo last year which I expected a trade where both people won. Obviously I look like a snake oil salesman at this point but hey, its worth a shot

Only question I have is there a chance Braun is worth a 5-8 rounder next year?
