Yes, he's hit just .231 in his Minor League career, but he's also hit 288 home runs and 30-plus in each of the past two seasons. That's led to some brief callups to the bigs, and he's hit nine homers in just 78 big league at-bats over the past two seasons. It's hard to imagine that he won't be back in Toledo to start the year, but if some right-handed power is needed in Motown, Hessman could make for a great story.
