What is the thought regarding starting multiple players from the same team? I have Cam starting over Romo this week and also have Steve Smith and Olsen on my roster. Is it better to start a Nate Washington, Brandon Marshall or Dwayne Bowe over Smith or should I put all my eggs in the same basket? I think I know the conservative answer but if Cam shocks everyone and has a great game! Surely it will be to the benefit of Smith and Olsen.

Thanks for the time.

Start the best players with the best matchups... I had Arian Foster, Matt Schaub, and Andre Johnson on the same team in two of my five leagues last year and needless to say I didn't mind starting all three of them every week.

I'm kind of in the middle of the road on this. Yeah people who had Schaub, Foster and Johnson weren't sitting them. But if you had just Schaub and Johnson like I did last year there were some weeks that suuuuuucked.

This is what I do:

If the guys are clearly your best players (like Steve Smith vs. Nate Washington) you start them even if you are playing other guys in that offense.

If it's close (like maybe an Olsen vs a Gresham or something) I would go with the other guy. This is especially true if you are favored in your matchup and value stability. If you think you are a longshot I might go the other way and hope Newton to Olsen combo could win the matchup singlehandedly.

This season I resisted adding Pettigrew because I already had Stafford and Calvin Johnson. I liked Pettigrew the best of the available TE's, but it wasn't by much over other guys available. My team has been performing well and I want to minimize week-to-week volatility.

In the same vein, as a big favorite I wouldn't have a problem playing 2 timeshare backs from the same offense vs trying to pick the top one from 2 different offenses. For instance DeAngelo + Jonathan Stewart vs. DeAngelo + James Starks. The second combo has a lot more upside, but more downside as well.

just my $0.02
