Final Keeper choice

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Final Keeper choice

Postby Hardcore Midget » Mon Feb 09, 2009 1:43 pm

Hey guys. First time/long time, all that crap...

I play in a 12-team H2H league, each team keeps 5 players, all based on tiers from the originally drafted position.
Stat categories- R, H, HR, RBI, SB, TB, AVG, OPS, XBH, W, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB, K/9, QS

I have four of my five keepers decided on: Hanley Ramirez, Josh Hamilton, Ian Kinsler, Francisco Liriano.

Deciding on my final keeper is tough.
Choosing from:

Matt Holliday
Lance Berkman
CC Sabathia
Matt Kemp

Not too fond of keeping either Holliday or CC. So I'm debating on the safe option of Berkman, or the potential of Kemp.

Thoughts?

It is a tough choice. I'd go with Berkman. Also, I'm assuming you're keeping Liriano over these guys because of where he was drafted.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

You are correct good sir.

The tiers are broken down by drafted rounds. Rounds 1-4= Tier 1. 5-9= Tier 2, and so on.

The top three tier guys, you keep for 3 years. Tiers 4 and 5 you get for 5 years.

Liriano is one of my 5 year guys, as he was a FA pickup in 2007 when he was hurt.

So trying to decide on Kemp, Berkman, or maybe Holliday or CC as my final 3 year guy.

I know Berkman is the safe bet for .300-30-100, but I see Kemp's .290-18HR-76RBI-93R-35SB from last year and am intrigued.

Yeah, Kemp is going to be great and I could see leaning towards him, but you have Hamilton and Kinsler for quality production with upside. Berkman will just give you quality production and some safety, which you could use.
