Pujols

Postby Doc Holliday » Wed Jun 11, 2008 2:45 pm

I've got someone trying to unload him on me. Anybody with insight on his injury? I think I could get him with Peavy and maybe a throw in.

Just read this over at Sporting News

"So, for Pujols' owners, here's the best case: He rests, heals and is back in three weeks. Worst case: He doesn't heal quickly/properly, the Cards fall farther out of first place/wild card contention and Pujols decides to have Tommy John surgery and kill two birds with one fantasy-killing stone.

Both situations are possible, so this wouldn't be a bad time to see what you can get for him. As usual, Pujols is having a monster year (.347, 16 homers, 42 RBIs, 41 runs, two SBs), so I'm sure someone will be willing to pony up for him, even though he's injured."

Man I don't know Doc. Didn't even get a Post Dispatch in the bootheel today. First time they've ever falied to deliver down here, so I got nothing. Nothing new on STL.com yet either.

I think I'm going to shy away. His first offer was pretty outrageous now that I know a little bit more about the injury.

STLtoday.com reports:

Out 3 weeks. Between Grade 1 and Grade 2 strain. Grade 3 is a detatchment, Grade 2 suggests some tearing. Grade 1 is no tearing.

My guess, he'll be back in 3 weeks to hammer the Cards to the NLCS.

Wishful thinking maybe. But we all know how tough El Hombre is.

I'm thinking it's time to start making other plans, but I'm hoping he comes back after the All-Star Break. (I'd say there's a 60/40 chance he does come back.)

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I wonder where he'll go in the RCL?

A mid-round steal or a mid-round waste. Right in the middle of a closer run.

Good question Doc. Kinda need early stats in half a year don't we. My guess is some idiot Cardinal fan schmohawk will take a flier in the 5th, namely me. Or not.
