Just read a thread re: disbanded ESPN teams in the General Player Discussion sub-forum and it got me wondering...

Can we have a quasi-winners league next year where the top 30% of the RCL participants as measured by final standings at the end of this year are invited? And maybe a hyper-competitive league made up of league winners and/or top 5% of 2011 finishers?

If there's a fatal flaw to fantasy baseball, it's unmanaged teams.

Sounds good, but I know many players already have their own competitive leagues. And these leagues are plenty tough enough for me!

I think maybe Grey will want to keep these as wide open leagues, but he'll speak for himself.

i suppose there will always be some abandoned teams, but I don't know how big the problem is in the RCLs. (The Toronto Bautistas might have been better off if I had abandoned them.)

I was looking at the rosters this morning, and obviously there are some abandoned teams, or at least owners not paying close attention. Josh Hamilton is still in the DL slot on 5 teams

Vin, I feel your Batistas' pain in RCL 5... After losing Broxton, DLR, Wright, and Posey, I've given up on winning that league, too, but I shall daily check my team to the last day nevertheless!

While there are *some* abandoned teams, I don't think it's much of a problem in RCL leagues, especially compared to typical ESPN or Yahoo public leagues where by the time September rolls around you only have 3 or 4 managers that care.

Still, an RCL Winner's league sounds like a cool idea.

For some reason, our (speaking for Mike and myself) league has 4 owners with <6 moves on the year. Why the 4 of those deadbeats landed in our 23rd league instead of the next 13 I'll never know. I guess they were really eager to claim a team so they could abandon it.

I think an RCL winners league would be pretty cool, myself. Doesn't even have to be an "official" RCL.
