Gagne vs. Izzy

Steals/Saves Ain't Got No Face. Closers and speed talk. Which MRs are moving in? Which schmohawk speedster is getting steals at MI?

Gagne vs. Izzy

Postby IowaCubs » Mon Jun 09, 2008 7:55 am

In my mixed league, Gagne and Isringhausen are on the wire. What are the odds one of them returns to their shitty pre-DL closer role?

Should I even bother?

Discuss.

I'd go for Izzy first. Gagne was crap when he was closing and Torres has done a good job, as I expected.

Franklin's been fine, but LaRussa (I think) will be more loyal to Izzy.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

La Russa made it clear he is looking forward to getting Izzy back.

"His spot on the club is here waiting for him," La Russa said. "When he's ready, he gets it. He's a dynamite closer."

I've been trying to think of some analogy along the lines of making me choose between two fat chicks to sleep with but I just don't have it today.

I agree with Grey if you put a gun to my head. Otherwise I'm using the roster spot on a MR (like Heath Bell!)

I might be picking up Izzy myself seeing Raffy-Sor is apparently still gummed up. Is Izzy really a better option over Soriano? I shudder at the thought.

I'd probably rather have Izzy than Bell or Soriano. I picked up Mike Gonzalez this week in two leagues just to make sure to have him when he starts getting save chances.

This reminds me of one of the joys of fantasy baseball - scavenging the backup closer while the owner of the closer is stuck with the incumbent.

Here's one guy in my blogger league decrying me for snagging Torres while he fussed with Gagne and Mota:

Tony (hearts) Izzy.

He's throwing a rehab assingment now and will be the closer when he comes back. He's on another players DL so I'll have to look elsewhere when Franklin no longer closes. Also have Wheeler for the next week or so.

Here's what I did.

I just scarfed up Gonzales (the guy who has Soriano wants to know if I know something he doesn't> Didn't mention Razzball) What happens in Razzball, stays in Razzball. Also added TB, Razzball again, fingers crossed hoping for a trade soon.

I guess this is the problem with knowing about a great website like this one, is that I'm afraid to tell my leaguemates about it, least they begin to read it and get the same damn tips I'm getting.

Know what you mean bro (see Rudy post above), just kicked TB to the curb to pick up Morrow after seeing your post. Greatest thing about that is, the commish, who won't trade with anybody, is holding Putz. He's currently 13 pts behind 2nd place who's 20 behind the leader, yours truly. I don't even need saves.

I'm using Razzball to see how bad a bunch of schmohawks can lose to a Razzballer. Ha, its gonna be ugly.
