We need a glossary term to describe the situation where a pitcher pitches 7-8 spectacular innings, after which the manager leaves him in too long leading to the pitcher promptly giving up 2-3 runs.
Last night, for example, Nolasco had a wonderful line of 8 IP, 1 ER, and 3 baserunners. Without any regard for my fantasy team whatsoever, the Marlins manager plugged Nolasco in for the ninth, where he gave up 2 runs on 3 straight hits in 1/3 of an inning.
Any ideas here? Perhaps the word would incorporate a pitcher that this happens to a lot, or a manager who frequently pushes pitchers harder than they should.

Hmm... Isn't this Dustied? Which isn't an official term but has been bandied about.

The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions. Is your league H2H? Roto? I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from. If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters. I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Not sure. I'm still relatively new to the site, so I didn't know if this situation had ever been addressed. I would think "Dustied" would refer to more egregious decisions that end up being detrimental to a player's long term health.

Dustied is more when a pitcher is thrown for too many innings, so you're right it's not quite the same.

Terry Francona seems to do this a lot but "Francona'd" doesn't really roll off the tongue.
maybe something like the "Frankie Special"?

Jumped The Start - A successful series of pitched innings that's marred when the manager doesn't know when to call it quits. Also known as a Cousin Oliver or Sam on Diff't Strokes start.
Hyperextended Start - A start that begins okay and leaves its owner hyper over the damage caused by his starter staying in the game too long (see Pedro in 2003 playoffs vs. NYY)
The "You're Not Bob Ross!" Moment - When a manager isn't content with his pitcher's masterpiece and ruins it by keeping him in a batter or two too long to make it a little better. After public access painter extraordinaire Bob Ross who would dare adding a tree or bush to what seemed like a finished masterpiece only to be successful 100% of the time.

Goosed! They just couldn't hit the eject button in time. Cains start was going great until he was Goosed in the 7th.

I like Goosed. It's a stellar reference and throwback to the 80's, which fits right in with Razzball.
