Peralta's average has been a pain in my ass all year, and Aviles sure looks promising... thoughts? Typical offensive stats apply.

I'd do it, in fact I've done it. Peralta is streaky, and though Aviles is a fairly unknown commodity, I don't think there is much risk involved in dropping Jhonny, but maybe there is some potential with Aviles. Just keep expectations in check. I have Aviles in a league where my SS this season have been Tulo, Keppinger, Barmes, and Hairston - so I've been pleasantly surprised with Aviles so far. Ride the hot bat!

Okay, so I did pick up Aviles in my one league (although not for Peralta, which worked out well because Jhonny has been much better since then). But I still haven't picked him up in my other league because my team is packed already. Also fielding percentage counts which is a knock against him. But It's getting hard to sit idly by and watch him waste away on free agency with how he's been hitting. Tejada is my starting shortstop and Roberts is my starting second baseman so those two are obviously out. The only players I could really afford to drop for him would be: Jose Guillen, Aaron Rowand, Orlando Hudson, or Francisco Cordero. Guillen would be the most likely candidate. Cordero would leave me with just Papelbon and Soria for saves, which I'd be fine with but there's nobody available for saves in free agency so it might be better to keep him as an insurancy policy.

What do you guys think, would it be worthwhile to drop any of them for Mikey?

What's Orlando Hudson doing? Sitting on your bench? If so, I'd drop him. Or Rowand. What's Rowand doing on your team? Also on bench?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Hudson, Peralta (have him on both teams), Rowand and Guillen rotate in and out of my two utility spots, depending on their matchup any given night. All 4 get a decent amount of starts each week, especially because the OF have been taking starts for Pence as well recently while he dicks around trying to figure out how to play baseball.

Hudson and Aviles are more or less the same player. Aviles has a bit more upside because he's more of an unknown. (EDIT: But that does mean he has more risk.)

Hudson got hit in the leg with a pitch. Doesn't look good for the o-dog...

Thank god for Aviles.

He and Kaz are my best two hitters right now. Sad, but true. They have my last 3 homers... what the hell are the rest of my guys doin'?

I dropped Kelly Johnson in one league and Christian Guzman for Aviles in another, and I couldn't be happier. Another big day today: 4/4 with a HR and 3 RBI, the kid is white hot right now I hope he can keep it up.
