Dudes,

1) "Surprise BJ" makes me laugh.

2) My idea: "The Reach Around"

Example: "Man, Broxton really Effed me in A (Blown Save) tonight! At least he was nice enough to give me the reach around (Win)."

Yeah, think Surprise BJ still works best.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Okay all....Grey and I talked and while we like Surprise BJ (depending on whom its from of course or whom you're giving it to if you're into that sort of thing), it's not ideal for a blown save + win because there's no downside. A surprise isn't a bad thing and a BJ sure as hell isn't (again, depending on the above caveat).

So the need is for combining a sucky thing (blown save) with a positive thing (win).

Our recommendation:
Sphinctory - When a closer stinks enough to blow a save but manages to squeeze out a victory.

Runner-up
Blowin - Blow+Win - functional but not very funny.

If you can top Sphinctory, we're all eyes (we can't hear you)...

It could always be a Tranny BJ or something; at first you're happy, but then you see the bulge in the other person's pants and realize your folly.. But I don't think that really ties into getting a win, though

Aren't there really two phenomena here:

1) CL gets the BS; his team regains the lead; CL pitches the next inning for the W
2) CL gets the BS; his team regains the lead; CL is relieved the next inning and gets the W

So, one is a mess the CL cleans up by himself (it's like wearnig a self-cleaning diaper), the other is where someone cleans it up for him.

Surely we can fine-tune a term (or terms) to differentiate!

For instance, last night Cordero looked like he was going to have a sphinctory in a self-cleaning diaper when he came out to pitch in the bottom of the 10th. Alas, it was a sphinctory with a diaper change when he walked the first two batters.

Interesting addendums. Definitely something to discuss with Rudy.

While I see some difference b/w the two, the fact the closer blew the save means the victory has a stink to it that can't be cleaned away by a scoreless 2nd inning.

So I'm still leaning toward just Sphinctory for a reliever who gets a win after blowing a save...

I like Sphinctory. Poo is poo, regardless if it's polished or not.
