Time To Panic?

Postby Syndrax » Mon May 24, 2010 3:23 pm

I won this league two times in a row, and for both of the years I dominated almost all season.

This year, the league was dropped down from 12 to 10 teams, and now there's two divisions.

However, my team is seriously sucking right now. Lost last week to the worst team in the league, by a score of 9-2.

My batting stats are where I am hurting at the current moment. The only thing that is saving me, is my pitching.

Batting Stats - Runs - 2nd to last, HR - Last, RBI - 2nd to last, AVG - 2nd to last, OPS - 2nd to Last, SB - Third
Pitching - Wins - First, K - First, ERA - First, WHIP - 2nd, Saves and CG are middle of the pack.

Do you think it's time to hit the panic button? I've made several trades this year, acquiring Sandoval and Ramirez most recently.

Was just offered Lind for Kershaw.

I think your league is very shallow now and you need an All-Star at every position. I'd grab Lind there and hope for a turn around. I'd also see if you can get Hanley with Lincecum... Or Braun and just piece together pitching.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Yeah, I jumped the gun a little bit early on Santana I guess.

Thanks for the insight Grey, I'll see if I can get some offers going.

Was hoping for Rollins and Sizemore to anchor the offense with Pujols, but I guess that was a poor decision.

Don't get me wrong, Santana has upside. But it doesn't make sense for him to be anywhere but the bench until June.

In a 10 team league, you can't afford to have a catcher that isn't playing. Also, your offense is seriously lacking for 10 team league (but you know that already). I would not deal Kershaw for Lind, but I agree with Grey that shopping Lince for Hanley or Braun is a good idea.

Yeah, it certainly is hurting. Was hoping for a turn around for Sizemore, and Rollins being on the DL hasn't helped much either.
I'm just hesitant to trade away Lincecum, he's turned into quite the player for me. :-/

I suppose becoming attached to a player isn't quite good for the team as a whole.

I ended up trading Liriano for Lind.

Still not sure about trading Lincecum yet.

Lincecum has had two poor starts in a row, so now might not be the best time to trade him anyway, since you might not get as much as you could have two starts ago.

Yeh, I agree with Grey. You best option is to try to load up on offense and piece together pitching.

It is much easier to grab FA pitchers and spot start than to fill holes in offense.
