The Great Plagiarism of Figgy: Playoff Ready 2

Postby john » Tue Jul 22, 2008 1:46 am

Sorry Get Figgy With It, but I liked your idea too much not to steal it...Anywho, so I'm in 1st place in my H2H league by about 6 games and I think its because of the balance on my team. Now that we're getting close to playoffs, I'm just wondering if there are any moves I can make without destroying said balance?

I'm currently trying to get Billingsley by doing a combo of Davis and Greinke because the guy needs Davis' power at first. I don't think he'll bite, but you never know.

12team H2H:
Offense-McCann, Jackson, Phillips, JJ Hardy, Wright, Markakis, Rios, Quentin, Victorino
Pitcher- Webb, Dice-K, Shields, Greinke, Parra, Maine, Wood, Soria, Marmol
DL- Hafner
BN- Francouer, Hawpe, Davis

I'd want Billingsley there, definitely.

Also, you could trade Quentin for a starter. Hawpe would fill in admirably.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

So you think my offense is set? No need to grab a premiere 1st bagger the likes of Miggy(owner is in last place) or PABST or anything like that?

Well, Jackson is a bit weak, but I don't see how you're swinging it without trading away another key element of your team. How would you land Miggy or PABST?

Not sure, I was thinking some combo of Quentin, Marmol, Jackson and Dice-K would do it, but you're right that might require me giving up too many pieces and Quentin seems to be picking that average up a bit . Also, I do have bottomless pit of faith in Hafner so there's that as well.

So lets say I did trade Quentin for a pitcher, what kind of pitcher could he command? (Assuming of course the owner needs him)

Billingsley, Shields, etc. i.e. A top pitcher that there might be some doubts about.
